About Dr. Park
Dr. Steven Y. Park is the author of the forthcoming
book: Sleep, Interrupted: A physician reveals the #1 reason
why so many of us are sick and tired. This book describes
his unique sleep-breathing paradigm which questions
conventional wisdom regarding health and disease, and
offers alternative explanations for many routine medical
conditions such as sinusitis, migraines, depression or
anxiety, cold hands and chronic fatigue.
Dr. Park practices medicine with the firm belief that the human body has a natural ability to heal itself, and promotes a comprehensive, holistic form of treatment for all of the common ear, nose and throat ailments, including obstructive sleep apnea and upper airway resistance syndrome. By taking time to know his patient’s life situations and extensive family history, he goes beyond just treating patients for routine ear, sinus or throat infections, but rather, in many cases, getting to the root cause of the condition.
He also combines the latest complementary and alternative forms of therapy into cutting edge modern medical and surgical options.
Board certified in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (ear, nose throat physician and surgeon), Dr. Park has been practicing in New York City since 1998. He handles all aspects of general otolaryngology with a particular interest in sleep-related breathing disorders. Affiliated with the renowned New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, he is Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the New York Medical College. Dr. Park lectures frequently on obstructive sleep apnea to various departments and organizations, and instructs other practicing surgeons as well as residents in training on advanced surgical techniques.
A New York City native, he was a semifinalist in the Westinghouse National Science Talent Search while at Stuyvesant High School. After obtaining his BA with honors in biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University, he went on to receive his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. His surgical internship was performed at Montefiore / Albert Einstein. Dr. Park stayed on at Montefiore / Albert Einstein to complete his otolaryngology training, where he was appointed administrative chief resident in his final year.
He and his wife Kathy have two boys, Jonas and Devin. He likes to bake and play piano in his spare time, and loves using Macintosh computers.
